Social Activist Manorama Weearsinghe was summoned to appear at the Criminal Investigation Department on 17th February. The summoning letter vaguely stated that he had been summoned in relation to a statement he had made, but did not mention what was the statement and when it had been made. On 17th of February, Weerasinghe sent a letter in response through his lawyers asking to inform why he had been summoned.
