On 28th April 2022 the banners placed on the fence of the President Secretariat office were removed by the security officers. These banners showed disappeared, tortured and assassinated journalists during previous Rajapakse regime. The Journalists who were at the protest site claimed that these banners were removed at night on 28th of April 2022. The International Media Unit which was placed in the protest site at Galleface called off a press conference and claimed they will thoroughly condemn the act and will replace the banners.
