Amila Mendis of Wāriyapola, a youth activist actively took part in Kurunegala GotaGoGama protest campaign was arrested by the police and detained at Wehera Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office following a complaint made by Mayor of Kurunegala on 16th May. He was released on bail on the same day, by the Kurunegala magistrate. The case was adjourned, with the next hearing set to be held on October 28.
