Security tightened and increased surrounding the University of Colombo on 11th May over intelligence information that the university canteen had received a 1500-pound food order. The intelligence information has conveyed that the Inter University Student Federation has gathered hundreds of students for a gathering. But the university source has said that some 500 freshers have been invited to the event conducted by the arts department and they expect the student will be accompanied by one of their family members.
