On May 18, the event organized by students of Eastern University in Batticaloa to commemorate the Mullivaikkal genocide was abruptly interrupted by officers from the Eravur police station (Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka, 2024). Forcefully, they destroyed the floral arrangements and forcefully confiscated the Kanji containers, subsequently issuing threats of arrest to the students.News Source Link
