Description

Police dispersed the protest conducted by the Ceylon Workers’ Red Flag Union in front of the labour department kandy. The Police claimed that the protest allegedly disturbed the Advanced level students examination. The protestors demanded a 1000 Rupees salary increment for the plantation workers that the plantation owners had promised at the wages board and signed a collective agreement with trade unions which they had withdrawn unilaterally.
