Daily Mirror newspaper photographer Waruna Wanniarachchi was questioned for over 4 hours by the Criminal Investigation Department on 06th April 2022, regarding the tense situation that occurred during the protest in front of President Rajapakse’s private residence. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has asked the journalist to provide videos and photographs of the incident. Wanniarachchi is one of the journalists who had been arrested and injured during the protest.
