There were reports of media that 31 years ago, on 21st of July an order was passed by the police to stop the event of Thileepan,a member of LTTE, Commemoration against IPKF (Indian Peace Keeping Force). It was planned for 26th of September at Nallur,Jaffna disrict. Inorder to controll the religious reconciliation police had claimed to stop the event and asked to remove the decoration on Thileepan monument. On 25th September the court rejected issuing an injunction. The next day the event was held in Nallur Kanda Swamy Temple, Jaffna. Mayor of Jaffna, Politicians and Civilians from Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu and Jaffna had participated in the event.
