Journalist Manjula Samarasekara, who was expected to be appointed as the Media Co-ordinator of an organisation called the “National Centre for the Struggle '' connected with anti-government protests alleged that there is a clear indication that Police is attempting to arrest him. Samarasekara is also the Founding President of the ‘Sarvapaakshika Aragalakaruwo’ (All-Party Activists of the Struggle) organisation, which started negotiations with Opposition political parties in order to achieve the goals of the struggle. Meanwhile, the Police head office has made a statement stating that Western Province Deputy Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon has ordered the Police intelligence to conduct an investigation into the conduct of the newly established organization “National Centre for the Struggle.”
