Journalist and media rights activist, Tharindu Uduwaragedara, received the summons on 28thJune, asking him to be present before the CID on 4th July, regarding the press conference they held condemning the arrest of the standup comedian Nathasha Edirisooriya. After lawyers representing the Buddhist monks who made the complaint against the comedian informed that the group of activists including Uduwaragedara have allegedly caused contempt of court, the court asked the CID to investigate the matter.
