Dinesha Upendra, Kuliyapitya Regional Journalist of Lankadeepa newspaper was assaulted by two unknown men, while he was at his office. Few days before the attack, an unidentified person had broken into his office, about which he had made a Police complaint. When the Police came to inquire about the complaint, a group of people had come there and video recorded the event. When the journalist has inquired about their identity, they have assaulted the journalist. Subsequently he was admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital, in Kurunegala district.
