On the 26th of January, as part of the ongoing peaceful protest of displaced families demanding the release of their land in Keppapulavu on which now an Army camp is situated, the families moved
their protest next to the camp following the passing of a deadline set for the return of their land. Security forces at the camp responded by photographing the protesting families from within the camp and increasing security and surveillance at the site by deploying the police and military
personnel.
