Sri Lanka Telecom trade unions have organised a collective trade union protest against the selling the government share and privatisation of the Sri Lanka Telecom. The Sri Lanka Telecom employees organised a collective one day strike on 3rd April collaboration of 18 sri lanka telecom trade unions in front of the Sri Lanka Telecom head office. The protesters attempted to march their protest near to the president secretariat and then the heat situation arose between police and protesters. Police riot squad tried to stop the protest march. The treasury has 49% present shares of the Sri Lanka Telecom.
