After the political turmoil, Ranil Wickramasinghe was reappointed as Prime Minister and his swearing
was held at President’s office on 16th of December. Swearing of new cabinet was held at the office on 20th of December. On both occasions, the media was not allowed to be present at the swearing, several editors of both print and electronic media told to INFORM. Some organizations including Free Media Movement condemned the barring, saying it was a violation of right to information and media freedom.
