On 19th August Police issued a press release seeking public assistance in identifying 72 protesters who allegedly “forcibly entered the Presidential Secretariat President’s in Colombo on 09 July and damaged its property”. In the statement, the Police Media Division said the Colombo North Division criminal investigations unit is carrying out investigations to arrest suspects in connection with the incident. The police also published photographs seeking information about 34 suspects who have been identified through social media networks but whose identities have not been confirmed so far. Police also sought public support to arrest those who sat in the President’s chair. A young man and two women who sat on the President’s chair were subsequently arrested later
